“What are you going to do with a degree in English? Teach?"
The real answer was I didn’t know. I understood strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for success in any industry and line of work. Thus the major in English.
Indeed, as an in-house staff or as an agency partner, my work has traversed many different organizations across the globe. Experience in nonprofit, education, travel/hospitality, and medical industries give me a wealth of knowledge to put to work for you.

My marketing experience spans nearly three decades in Hawaii, Japan and now Texas. My goal is to bring fresh perspectives to organizational branding, corporate communications and strategic planning with marketing complementing operations.
Starting out in education and the YMCA, passion for travel and marketing shifted my focus to the tourism industry. I joined one of Hawaii’s largest marketing firms well-known for tourism work, Anthology Marketing Group. Before that I was vice president of marketing for Castle Resorts & Hotels portfolio of 26 hotels located in Hawaii, Micronesia and New Zealand. I also was fortunate to work with international companies such as The Ritz-Carlton and The Westin, as well as regional and non-profit organizations including Oahu Visitors Bureau, Hawaii Attractions Association and Peace Bridge, Inc.
In the last decade, nonprofit and a desire to give back tugged at my heart strings. I spearheaded marketing efforts at Blood Bank of Hawaii and Aloha United Way wearing many different hats from fundraising to crisis communication, and everything in between. And I mean everything!
Each position led me to the next, building upon every experience. All that started with a desire to be an effective communicator and a Bachelor of Arts in English from San Jose State University.
